What Records are kept and how are they stored?
Records will be kept of attendance, and other contacts, and any issues raised and discussed. In line with BACP best practice, all confidential records are kept electronically and are password protected.
I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and will ensure that the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation are fully complied with at all times.
Clients have the right to request access to whatever records are kept and this will be provided within a maximum period of one month. Clients also have the right to request the erasure of personal information and this will be carried out with due regard to the professional responsibilities and liabilities of the counsellor.
All records will be regarded as Confidential to the Client and will not be shared without prior agreement.
Clients will be asked to provide their consent for records to be kept as described above as part of the Contracting Process.
